The Garden Tomb is a rock-cut tomb considered by some to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus.
The shape of the hill resembling a human skull, was identified as the site of Golgotha (the skull) by the British General Charles Gordon in 1883.
The tomb has two chambers, side by side, as in tombs of the 9-7 century BCE.
It was not a new tomb in the first century CE.
Christians of the 4-6 century did not believe that this was the burial place of Jesus.
The Crusaders used it as a stable and the Garden Tomb Association is convinced that this is the Holy Place.
